This article provides instruction for a setup option that you encounter when navigating the project creation flow. The first part of the article addresses the Rabbet default template and the second part addresses custom templates.

Upload the budget using the Rabbet default template

Navigate to the portfolio landing page for your organization. Click 'Add Project'


After completing the basic project details, Rabbet provides multiple options for creating the budget. This article addresses the 'Upload Your Budget' option only.

Click 'Download Template' to obtain a blank copy of the Rabbet budget format. 

Follow the instructions on the Excel spreadsheet to input the budget line items, divisions and budgeted amounts. 

After the budget details have been input on the Excel document, save a copy of the spreadsheet to your computer. Drag and drop the saved Excel file onto the Rabbet upload pad. You can also use the 'Select File' button to upload the Excel budget file.

Once the file has been uploaded, Rabbet will automatically progress to the 'Review Budget' step. In this step, you can review the divisions, line items, and amounts extracted from the Excel budget. Make any necessary updates and click 'Next'.

You can now proceed with the remaining steps in the project creation flow.

Upload a custom budget format for your organization

These steps are intended for organizations that utilize custom budget formats that can be read by Rabbet. Not all organizations have this custom configuration.

After navigating to the 'Budget Setup' step in the project creation flow, click 'Upload Your Budget'.

If your organization has a custom budget reader configured in Rabbet, the name of that custom reader will appear.

After the budget details have been input on your custom Excel format, drag and drop the saved Excel file onto the Rabbet upload pad. You can also use the 'Select File' button to upload the Excel budget file.

Once the file has been uploaded, Rabbet will automatically progress to the 'Review Budget' step. In this step, you can review the divisions, line items, and amounts extracted from the Excel budget. Make any necessary updates and click 'Next'.

You can now proceed with the remaining steps in the project creation flow.
