Defining project status within Rabbet

Rabbet offers multiple project statuses to track the progress and state of projects. Rabbet will automatically update some statuses based on activity in the project.

Under Contract - Projects that are under contract but have not yet closed. If the contract for a project closes or is abandoned, update the status to 'Pre-Development' or 'Inactive,' respectively. Once a hard cost or pay application has been requested on a project with 'Under Contract' status, the project will automatically transition to 'Active' status.

Pre-Development - Projects that have closed on a contract but not yet started construction. Projects with the status of 'Pre-Development' will not be included in the Portfolio Dashboard. Once a hard cost or pay application has been requested on a project with 'Pre-Development' status, the project will automatically transition to 'Active' status.

Active - Projects that are under construction. Projects in Rabbet will automatically update to 'Active' status once a hard cost has been requested or if a pay application is present.

Complete - Projects that are no longer under construction or requesting funds or draws. Projects with the status of 'Complete' will not be included in the Portfolio Dashboard. You can still access all the data on 'Complete' projects, but you cannot edit them.

Sold - Projects that have been sold. Projects with 'Sold' status will not be included in the Portfolio Dashboard. You can still access all the data on 'Sold' projects, but you cannot edit them.

Inactive - Projects that are no longer active, usually due to a contract not closing. Projects with the status of 'Inactive' will not be included in the Portfolio Dashboard. You can still access all the data on 'Inactive' projects, but you cannot edit them.

Test - Projects created for testing purposes in Rabbet. Projects in 'Test' status will not be included in the Portfolio Dashboard. 'Test' projects are useful for learning the software, testing out new features, or storing budget templates to be referenced when creating new projects.
